FAQs
Common questions about ACT
Use these answers to understand how ACT supports interview preparation for the role you are applying for now.
Key points
What to know first
What is ACT?
ACT is the Alleviate Coaching Tool. It helps candidates practice for interviews using the role material they are applying with.
It prepares panel-style questions, gives AI-assisted coaching feedback and produces a practice report you can use before your real interview.
How is ACT different from generic interview coaching?
Generic coaching often uses broad interview questions. ACT starts from the specific Position Description, Job Description or job ad so the practice stays closer to the role, classification and capability themes.
The feedback focuses on clearer STAR structure, stronger evidence and closer role alignment. It remains preparation only.
Can I upload the job I applied for?
Yes. You can use the Position Description or job ad for the role you are applying for now. If a file cannot be read, paste the readable text instead.
Is ACT suitable for government interviews?
Yes. ACT supports government, public-sector and private-sector roles when you provide the role description.
What experience is ACT based on?
The Alleviate Coaching Tool is grounded in practical recruitment, HR, executive scribing, shortlisting, reference checking, learning design and candidate coaching experience.
The feedback is designed to help candidates practice clearer evidence, stronger STAR responses and closer role alignment. It remains preparation-only coaching, not a recruitment assessment or guarantee of selection.
Does ACT predict exact interview questions?
No. ACT creates realistic practice questions from the role material, but it does not know or predict the exact questions a real panel will ask.
Use the questions to rehearse evidence, structure and role alignment rather than memorising a script.
Can I use ACT more than once?
Yes. Repeated practice can help you compare reports, sharpen examples and focus on recurring gaps before the interview.
What is a practice credit?
One practice credit gives you one role-specific practice interview and a detailed feedback report.
A practice credit is used when the interview starts. If microphone trouble prevents you from saving a detailed first answer, ACT lets you start again for free or continue by typing your answer.
A detailed answer means there is enough detail for ACT to give useful coaching feedback. It does not need to be perfect; very short tests, silence and no-sound microphone attempts do not count.
What feedback should I expect?
ACT gives structured coaching feedback, readiness indicators, strengths, gaps and practical suggestions. Scores are coaching readiness indicators, not recruitment decisions.
What if I want more support?
You can buy additional practice packages when you need more attempts. You can also choose optional 1 on 1 coaching through Alleviate Recruitment.

Need help from support?
Ask the support assistant first. If the answer does not solve it, create a ticket from the same support panel.
Support chats and tickets may be reviewed by Alleviate support staff to resolve issues and improve the help articles. Do not paste passwords, card details, raw interview answers, transcripts or Position Description text into support chat.
